Standard Features
  1. G-418 Sulfate
G-418 Sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic used for the selection and maintenance of eukaryotic cells that are stably transfected with neomycin resistance genes.Related to Gentamicin, G-418 Sulfate exhibits toxicity toward both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. It is produced by Micromonospora rhodorangea and functions by binding to ribosomes, effectively inhibiting protein synthesis in these cells.
  2. Hygromycin B Solution
Hygromycin B Solution is a distinctive aminoglycoside antibiotic produced by Streptomyces hygroscopicus. It acts against bacteria, fungi, and higher eukaryotic cells by inhibiting protein synthesis. This solution is commonly used for the selection and maintenance of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells containing the hygromycin B resistance gene. Resistance is conferred by the E. coli hygromycin B resistance gene (hyg or hph).

With a mode of action distinct from G-418 or Blasticidin S, Hygromycin B is an excellent option for dual-selection experiments.
